1. Is Laser Hair Reduction permanent?

As the name rightly suggests, its laser hair reduction and NOT hair removal as it gets rid of about 70-75% of hair depending upon the type, area of the body and the amount of growth.

2. Is it painful?

We have the latest technology of lasers with an effective cooling which not only protect the surrounding skin but also makes the treatment experience more comfortable and pain-free.

3. How many sessions are needed and at what intervals?

On an average, 7-8 or more are needed. Since facial hair are hormonal, though it may take longer. There is no fixed interval between sessions as it differs depending upon growth of each person.

4. Who would be an ideal candidate for hair reduction treatment?

Laser works best on fair skin and thick hair. It does not work on white hair.

5. Precautions to be taken before and after the laser?

Don’t wax or thread and come for your session as no hair root will be present to kill. Your session may go waste. Though shaving is fine. Waxing or threading in between sessions is fine but when you come, the growth must be maximum.

6. Are there any side effects of Laser Hair Reduction?

If done by some trained personnel and with correct parameters, there are no side effects. There are chances of burns if the technique used is not correct & other sensitivity related temporary redness.

7. How does laser treatment work?

A very intense beam of light is passed through the skin at the hair root. The hair follicle becomes very hot and gets destroyed. The hair follicle is damaged permanently to an extent where it can no longer produce hair at all.

8. Is the treatment safe?

The treatment is approved by the US FDA. The light produced by the laser is in the infrared which is non-carcinogenic (non-cancer causing). Lasers have been used in the medical profession for over 15 years and no long-term side effects have been reported.

9. Does the treatment hurt?

During the treatment, patient may experience a mild stinging sensation described by most as snapping of a rubber-band. However, most patients tolerate this. Also a chill tip cooling hand piece is incorporated in the laser which protects the surrounding skin & reduces pain too.

10. How many treatments will I need?

On an average we recommend a course of 6-8 sessions for body and 8-12 for face. The sessions are typically spaced 6-8 weeks apart.
